Kansas Guided Thermal Coyote Hunting

THE MAN

Jon Thompson here, this will be my second season hosting amazing guided thermal coyote hunts in Kansas.

I’ve been calling coyotes since 1984. I called my first Coyote in by myself at age 12 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Prepare yourselves for a night of fast paced Coyote encounters. Expect many shot opportunities. Most shots will be taken from 10 yards to 150 yards with scopes capable of shots exceeding 400 yards.

THE HUNT

My 2023 season was a great success, with 14 hunters and more than 100 coyote kills. I am excited this 2024 season.

Hunts will be booked on Friday and Saturday nights, unless scheduled ahead of time for a Thursday night. I will be able to guide 2 hunters per trip. Hunts will be $475.00 per hunter for a full night and a $100.00 deposit is required to reserve your night. Areas hunted will range through East central Kansas over 40,000 acres.

Hunters will be provided with guns, pulsar thermal scopes (capable of recording video with audio for a video of your hunt), ammo, tripod and transportation. I will be accompanying you with me calling in the coyotes. Also drinks and snacks will be provided. We are hunting Kansas from Jan 2nd thru March 31st, be versatile and prepared for adverse weather, mostly cold. Lodging and meals are not supplied, but I’m located 4 miles from Ottawa, Kansas where anything you need can be found. No kill limit, wackem & stackem.

Coyotes are primarily nocturnal predators, making night hunting extremely effective. Along with the best electronic callers, thermal scopes and suppressors it makes each location capable of multiple targets. I take NO RESPONSIBILITY for any addictions that you may have after experiencing this hunt. Get ready to have some fun!

THE LAW

Kansas legalized the use of artificial light and thermal use for Coyotes in 2020. So I jumped on the opportunity. It has been nothing short of amazing. Hunters will need a valid Kansas hunting license and a night hunting permit. Non-Kansas resident hunting license is $97.50. Kansas resident hunting license $42.50. Night hunting permit is $2.50. Before the hunt will start we will go through a list of safety rules to ensure safety for all. We will train on how the scopes work, mainly how to record so you can take a video of your hunt home with you. I have a gun range on site where practice is available if needed.

You can obtain your Hunting License through the – State of KS.
Make sure to include the Night permit with the standard hunting license.
